Jon Advances in the Winfield Town Council Primary!

We are pleased to share that Jon Derwinski and fellow council member Zack Beaver have secured the two Republican nominations for Winfield Town Council at Large!

Jon is grateful to everyone who took the time to vote, offered their support, displayed a yard sign, or told their friends and neighbors about his campaign.

And now, we're asking you to do it all again because the November election is just a few months away! Jon looks forward to continuing to meet with residents, listening to their concerns, and discussing how Winfield can remain a safe and welcoming community.

Jon Derwinski Helps Move Winfield’s New 120-Acre Park Forward

Winfield is moving ahead with plans for a new 120-acre central park that could become a major gathering place for the community.

Jon Derwinski has been involved with the project from the beginning. More than three years ago, he began pushing for the Town to preserve a large piece of open land before it was lost to development. Since then, he has worked with fellow council members, town staff, property owners, and financial advisers to help turn that idea into a realistic plan.

Possible features include walking trails, playgrounds, soccer fields, pickleball and tennis courts, shelters, a skate park, and plenty of open green space. The final design has not been decided, and Jon believes residents should have a chance to help shape the park.

The project will take time, but securing the land is an important first step. Jon is proud to have helped move the plan forward and is committed to creating a park that Winfield families can enjoy for generations. I’m Running for Re-Election to the Winfield Town Council

I’m proud to announce that I’m running for re-election to the Winfield Town Council.

My family and I have lived in Winfield for more than 20 years, and it has meant a lot to me to serve this town over the years. I’ve had the chance to work in several roles, and I’ve truly enjoyed being part of the decisions and efforts that help move Winfield forward.

I believe local government should be honest, practical, and focused on the people who live here. That’s how I’ve tried to serve, and it’s how I’ll continue to serve if I’m re-elected.

There is still more work to do. I have some big ideas for Winfield’s future, but I believe we should move carefully and make smart decisions that fit the town we are. Growth and progress matter, but so does protecting what makes Winfield special.

I also think it’s important that Winfield keeps control of its own future. Too often, outside pressure and outside interests can push towns in directions that do not reflect what residents want. I will continue to stand up for Winfield and make decisions based on what is best for the people who live here.

It has been an honor to serve this community, and I would be grateful for the chance to keep doing that work. I respectfully ask for your vote in the Primary on or before May 5.
